| Pitching is broken in this game. Numbers are no where close to realistic | ||

| With all respect, I'd say it's league-centric. Your league is very heavy with offensive talent and weak on pitching talent, which is totally normal for that league level. You can set yourself apart by sprinkling in some "D". My opinion: If ERA is higher than FIP, it's a fielding issue. You can help out your pitching with higher fielding range. I know you gotta dance with who you brought, but 14 range is low at 2B and 12 is low for LF. I try to get close to 14 aggregate for 8 position players. Get to more balls = fewer baserunners ('specially up the middle). You aren't giving up HR (which is awesome), so get a few of those would be baserunners out and ERA will go down. Now...if someone has an opinion of hitting, I'm all ears. We've been spelling our city as Blmingtn cuz there's no "O" here... |

| @Private are you assume an equally weighted aggregate? I've always assumed it was weighted and I give priority to folks like SS, 2B, CF in terms of Range. | ||

| Pitching is the bane of my Broken Bat existence. I think PSF is spot on about defense if you want to support your pitchers, especially range at key positions like CF SS 2B. Maybe LF almost as high. I don't compromise on catcher. Must be capital C. I'm not as worried about arm. I'll go down to 14-15 if I get a good enough bat. This game is a matter of compromises. I've long compromised range at one if not both middle infield positions. I try to keep one at least 15 but I've had to go as low as 12-13 at times on the other. Again...offense for me. My current CFs are currently 15-16 range. I guess the hope would be that for any compromise you make that there is an equal or greater benefit in another area. In other words pick your poison. It's worth noting that PSF's pitching dominated me last season. Probably would this year unless I could starve his offense enough to make up for it. I'd surely like to give it a try 😂 |

| Yeah, Steve did confirm that Catching ability does impact pitching, so I agree with that. Although I still like to have 17+ for Arm. With fuzziness, I often feel like anything below that might as well be 0 Arm. Some 16 Arms do ok, some do horrible... But Arm is for catching runners only. The "C" will effect pitching. I generally have pretty good pitching, and I frequently run with very low range in LF/RF. Sometimes as low as 9 (but I prefer at least 12). I try to maximize my SS range (while still keeping some hitting ability), and I shoot for 14+ range at CF and 2B. But also worth mentioning that I run with a very small park to compensate for lower range in the OF. Small park with high walls, which is optimal for groundball pitchers.
