February 2nd, 2026 - Sugar High!
As in so many Cup Finals, Sugar Land and Lawrence split the first two games, setting up a winner-take-all finale. Sugar Land jumped out to an early 2–0 lead in the second inning, but a costly third-inning error opened the door for Lawrence, who erupted for five runs to seize control. The Sluggers refused to fold, storming back with three runs in both the fourth and fifth innings, fueled by a steady parade of walks, singles, and a Lawrence error. In all, Sugar Land drew 12 walks and collected 9 hits, with their lone extra-base hit being a double. Manuel Sandoval earned Playoff MVP honors, delivering six hits and a home run to spark the Sluggers’ offense. Congratulations to Flatsky and the Sugar Land Sluggers on a thrilling championship victory!
January 30th, 2026 - Cup Final!
The long-awaited Cup Final takes place Monday, featuring an improbable showdown between two League V.3 Cinderellas. The 85th-ranked Sugar Land Sluggers (V.3, PI 105.2) will face the 46th-ranked Lawrence Larks (V.3, PI 101.9) in a battle for the championship. Lawrence appears to bring the more explosive offense, while Sugar Land counters with superior pitching—a classic clash of strengths. All signs point to a thrilling Cup Final. After a move to the bullpen Corbin Gilman finally achieved his 200th career win. The first pitcher to reach that milestone in Folsom team history. A starter for his entire career, manager Harold Storey felt that a move to the bullpen might help Gilman reach that goal after getting skunked so many times this season. Now, Gilman can retire at the end of the season a two time Cy Young winner, the team leader in wins, strikeouts, innings pitched, shutouts, quality starts and game MVPs.
