| It's been a bugbear of mine for a while, Round 1 and 2 (and maybe 3) of the draft usually produces the best selections. Yet the players aren't avaialable for Spring Training in their first season. I get that it is designed that players joining during the season get picks, but is it possible for the initial and best drafts to happen earlier in season or even at the end of the previous season? It would just be nice to develop the players I am most likely to keep. Cheers Crackit |

| It is one week out of the career of up to like 200 weeks in your franchise, if you draft someone in the first round and keep them long term, 18 to 20 seasons, does one tiny fraction of a career require changing the entire draft timetable ? Probably not | ||

| I know this will be very unpopular but I would propose we go in the opposite direction. I think it would be fine if we had one less draft round and the draft started AFTER spring training is over. Major league prospects are drafted in July. Why do we expect to be able to use our new draftees in spring training? | ||
