#7 - Roy Hicks [ID #93015] 1B |

Home Town: New York, New York College: St. John's University
Hall Of Famer Bats (L) Throws (L) Positions: 1B

Notes: What a first baseman! A six time All-Star! Take a look at his stats and you will see a man who belongs in the HOF even before his playing days are done. Even at 34, when this was written, he was an All-Star and carrying the team as he has done for most of his career. What a stand-up player! Sadly, Roy Hicks career with the club ended at the beginning of the 2034 season as contract talks broke down and the parties decided to call it quits and part ways. We wish Roy well and thank him for his exceptional service to the club. Good luck going forward Roy!
#8 - Benito Robles [ID #298778] C |
---
Home Town: Guaynabo, Puerto Rico High School: Padilla King High School Drafted: 2055, Round #1 by Danbury Bobcats
Hall Of Famer Bats (R) Throws (R) Positions: C
Games 1864, AVE .286, OBP .371, SLG .522, OPS .893, H 1957, 2B 490, 3B 28, HR 358, RBI 1362, SB 4
Notes: When we took over the Bobcats franchise, we had a young promising catcher on our roster - Benito Robles. After 15 seasons, he's retiring as one of the best players in the history of this team. A former 1st round pick from Puerto Rico, Benito quickly established himself as a core peace of the batting order and became a perennial All-Star. 5 All-Star selection and 4 All-League honors make him one of the most decorated leaders of this team. He's also the most prominent power hitter in our history and finishes his career with franchise-best 358 HRs. He is also currently in top 10 in history in multiple categories, including games, hits, doubles, runs, RBIs, OBP, OPS and BBs. We can't imagine how this team would be able to progress towards higher divisions without his contributions. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors!
#11 - Eugene Wyatt [ID #69018] P |

Home Town: Austin, Texas School: none

Games 1149, W 30, L 93, S 764, ERA 4.02, BAA .254, WHIP 1.414, IP 1449⅓, K 997
Notes: Eugene just recently celebrated completing his 550th Save! He is still active and going strong with the Rocky Mount Yankees in North Carolina...Update: Season 2030 finds Eugene going 17 games before giving up his first earned run of the season and his era stands at 0.55! Not bad for a 38 year old! Update: Season 2031 - Eugene has recently reached his 600th save! WOW! And he is 39! What a workhorse! Wyatt ends season 2033 with 675 saves with 1006 games in appearances! He is 41 years old and the question is will he return for season 2034 so he can reach 700 saves? Tune in! UPDATE: On 10/13/2034, Wyatt has reached 700 saves!! Eugene reaches the end of season 2035 with 735 saves! Will he come back for season 2036 at 44 years old or finally retire at age 43? Update: Game Date: Sep 30th, 2036 - Eugene Wyatt has stepped down as the official closer of the Danbury Yankees after 763 saves in his career with the club. He feels at this point of the season he is hurting the clubs slim chances to get to the playoffs; he will pitch in another capacity for the club for the last 20 games of the regular season. Eugene Wyatt has finished the season and perhaps his career at 44 years old and a total of 764 career saves.Truly amazing feat and sign of durability! Eugene Wyatt, 45, has been demoted to AAA before the start of the 2037 season as he is most likely at the end of a great career. He will be released and we wish him the best of luck! He had 764 major league saves!
#41 - LaMonte Gay [ID #277035] P |
---
Home Town: Franklin, Massachusetts High School: Franklin High School Drafted: 2049, Round #1 by Danbury Bobcats
Hall Of Famer Bats (L) Throws (L) Positions: P
Games 498, W 186, L 138, S 3, CG 26, SHO 6, ERA 4.29, BAA .239, WHIP 1.403, IP 2762 , K 1930
Notes: It is hard to imagine a history of our franchise without LaMonte Gay. He has been a definition of quality and reliability for 17 seasons and was very instrumental in helping us move from the basement of League 6 to higher levels. His stats speak for themselves: 186 Wins, 10 seasons with at least 10 wins, 214 Quality Starts in 398 starts. This helped him achieve multiple accolades: Rookie Pitcher of the Year, 4 All-Star Appearances, 2 All-League Pitcher Awards and 2 Cy Young Awards. He's retiring within only 14 wins of 200 which is almost impossible to achieve nowadays. That places him 3rd all time in our history. LaMonte set a very high standard for pitching in our organization and will always be referred to as one of our greatest.
#57 - Ismael Vasquez [ID #291592] OF |
---
Home Town: San Juan, Puerto Rico High School: Central High School Drafted: 2054, Round #4 by Danbury Bobcats
Hall Of Famer Bats (R) Throws (R) Positions: OF 2B
Games 1724, AVE .280, OBP .320, SLG .508, OPS .828, H 1784, 2B 430, 3B 45, HR 311, RBI 1122, SB 197
Notes: Not very often a 4th round draft pick turns into a core franchise player and delivers a 15-season career full of excellence. This was a story of Ismael Vasquez. He started off as a useful depth piece, but once exposed to regular playing time, he took off and became a perennial all-star and one of the best batters in the franchise history. Splitting time between 2B and LF, Ismael ended up being a 5-time All-Star and 4-time All-League. He ends his Bobcats career being in top 10 all-time in multiple categories, including games, hits, doubles, HRs and RBIs. His 311 HRs are 2nd all-time and he needed just 24 to be the best power hitter in our history. We wish Ismael good luck going forward and thank him for his contribution to our franchise!
