Seca Joined: 05/05/2014 Posts: 5280 Waterloo Dinosaurs III.1	Rough first half for Waterloo. Happy with the lineup. Happy with the bullpen. But can't find any SP at all. We've only lost 100 once before (my first full season at the helm). On pace for that this season. Think we'll do better in the second half. Every one of my developing bats is wrestling with the Mendoza line. They should improve. Same for the young arms in the rotation (I hope). Vaught (LF), Henry (2B), Elias (RP) our best shots at the AS team.

JJNZ Joined: 12/09/2014 Posts: 1615 Yakima Monster II.2	Waterloo has a huge range of extremely impressive stat's, one of, if not the all time great team. Despite that, I'm still absolutely blown away that in the ~55 or so seasons you've had the team, you've only had 4 seasons with a losing record. Absolutely blows my mind. By contrast, I consider myself a fairly good manager (eat one Freddy) and in a couple of seasons less, I've had 13 losing seasons. Staggering. Updated Thursday, April 9 2026 @ 12:02:38 am PDT

Seca Joined: 05/05/2014 Posts: 5280 Waterloo Dinosaurs III.1	Bit of a change in direction for Waterloo. We had been trying to blood some young guys in the rotation. But they have been uniformly terrible. None of them are going to amount to anything. Not worth the pain developing them. So we started trying to find guys in the 28-30 year range that might have a few good years left in them. This will likely be our strategy for a while. Despite spending lots of picks on pitchers we only have 2 SP prospects in the minors and neither is blue chip. At this point we've had 17 different SP take to the hill. Last season we had 12. Season before that 9. On a brighter note Gill is ready to go. We are hopefully he will make an impact, maybe as a leadoff batter. Will be our fulltime RF next season. Haven't looked around but I feel Arago(r)n has a decent shot at RotY. Fernandez has been the best of the many rookie pitchers we have sent to the mound. Almost certainly better out there.

Our die seemed cast from the beginning. We were really hoping to avoid the 100th loss. Came pretty close. Tied for the worst season in Dino history. That was a full rebuild season. This wasn't. Trajectory may not change much in 2074.

Didn't consider Pierre to be a strong contender at the season's beginning being in the middle of a youth movement, glad to be proven otherwise. Said youth were probably more disappointing than satisfactory, but the vets stepped up majorly and provided a better offense than has been seen for awhile in Pierre. Defense was very good except for Feng at third. Training a player a new position is always painful. The coaching staff is very excited to have Sanchez as a regular fixture in center field. Whitson finally had a productive season. Valentin continues to be a bedrock for the bullpen. And set the all-time holds record for Pierre. Ceballos has now thoroughly opened my eyes to the possibilities of a low control pitcher after delivering another productive season. Cheers and Good luck @Hard-hat in the finals!

Last year was batting practice. This year is harvest season. We’ve got hitters who treat curveballs like overdue bills, pitchers meaner than a goose in a hardware store parking lot, and a catcher who once framed a strike so well the umpire thanked him after the game. So enjoy the optimism while it’s still mathematically possible. By midseason, half of you will be trading prospects for relief pitching, and the other half will be pretending your clubhouse isn’t actively haunted. To the rest of the league: good luck.
