After 14 seasons of being known as the Midland Mafia, the team has decided to make a change and will now be known as the Midland Outlaws. It is rumored that city hall pressured the team to make this change, having always been against the Mafia logo and the message it sent the young people in Midland. The name change to Outlaws can be seen as a compromise, allowing the team to continuing calling it's ball park The Hideout.

After 9 seasons of being in Division VI, ownership of the Midland Cubs felt that things needed to be shook up a bit. Starting with a new logo and name, the Midland Cubs will now be known as the Midland Mafia. Ownership is hoping that this new logo and name will instill a sense of aggression in the players and fan base, jump starting the team for it's first real run at becoming a Division V team. Let's see how the season shapes up for the new Mafia.
