Brand in 2073 matched that ERA while pitching nearly 30 more innings. German's BAA was .151 however which seems unbeatable lol

The Infernos team average of .293 is the best during my tenure. We hadnt hit better than .280 since 2069. When once our all-time HR/HR Season 2B Barry Nakajima was blocked from some perhaps deserved All-League nods by the Holland Nicols 2B George Hagen, who at one point won MVP in 7 of 9 seasons, so this season, the MVP voters felt The Punisher's season .293/37/133 (in just 124 games) was less impactful than Hustchinson's Dillon Larson's .311/29/101, just ahead of 2073 ROY Cornejo in votes 44-37. While Corney's accomplishment was massive(ROY/AS/AL), he again hit .316 with 20 homers, showing where most of the weight goes to. Anyway, complaints aside, I am stoked that the Infernos had 4 of the 9 regular All-League position players and the DH. Byron Dale, like Corney, was massively improved in year two. He was 17-8 with a 3.16 ERA and Corney, after some pedestrian minor league seasons and springs, was not sure if he was going to be able to hit. He was a deadline claim 4 seasons ago and it is hoped he can succeed The Punisher at short armed 3B, who by, the way, shows no signs of relinquishing. He set the record for RBI during my tenure with 133. Forrest, who I felt was washed up, was let go, and helped Asheville sweep me in the playoff, and Guest gave me nothing this season. so this team made it in large part because Wolford, thrust into the starting rotation, did very well in 19 starts, late season claimer Barrios was very good as well, and Brand and Reynolds had great seasons in off-handed relief. Jasso was not completely replaced, but veteran Herb Miller may help next season there, and hopefully in a year or two, some younger guys take over. Very excited about this team

All-Star SaburÅ Ogata was rolling until he got "Death by Luis" today in a 3-0 loss. Luis Gamboa struck him out twice in three matchups, and Luis Olivera got him to pop up. Since May 2, when he was hitting .225, (including Cup) he had hit in 51 of last 57 games, additionally with 10 HR in his last 25 games.

The Straw Hat, a hardworking SS who logged more than a decade with us after joining us from the 2059 draft, like the Mayor before him, has stepped down to create a spot for the good of the Infernos. Possessing the most basic hitting tools, he worked night and day on his offence and in over 500 games he sported an OPS of .784, swiped nearly 150 bases at a rate of 73% and was a flawless fielder who booted only 38 balls in over 450 games and SS and the rest at 2B. He hit .273 or better in 7 different seasons with two over .300. Our straw hats are off to you, Jorge Zapata, never has an Inferno done more with less to work with than you.

3-2 when Estalella tied it in the bottom of the 9th. 7 guys reach safely for Midland in the 11th and they take a 7-3 lead. Just 5 Infernos reach safely in the bottom half but 3 are extra base hits that tie it at 7. 15th inning, 3 singles by midland, and rbi on a HBP and a sac fly and they lead 10-7. 5 more Infernos reach safely the bottom half and the deciding runs in the 12-10 match score on a 2 out outfield error. Despite 64 AB batted less than .300 for the game and again, despite the timeliness of some of them, left a whole lot of men on base
