Will new GM mean big changes? -
by Cowboy Roy on July 29th, 2025
Amidst a budgeting nightmare GM Zeke the Banjoman was fired yesterday. Filling his shoes is the financial guru Taco Pete Jergenson. The Wranglers are 6Mil over budget and that's most likely why they cut SS Michael Doherty even though they just claimed him off waivers on April 3rd. Doherty was making 3.75 Mil a year. This move will put a big dent in the budget crisis but not fix it. I wonder who will be next.

Lots of changes in Billings -
by Cowboy Roy on July 14th, 2025
Billings extends a warm welcome to their new manager Preacher Paul Lane. Owner Cowboy Roy said "a change was needed but salary played a big part as well." The team is saving about 2M per year with Lane.
Billings is also now Wrangler country. The new red & grey uniforms look sharp but Mountaineer and Bison memorabilia is always welcome.
Expect some new faces around the clubhouse as well, as Billings looks to improve on their 2nd place finish from last season. A full breakdown of that will come later so stay tuned.

Looking toward the future -
by Cowboy Roy on July 3rd, 2025
"2069 was not a great season for us." Team owner Cowboy Roy said today. "It wasn't all bad either. After taking over midway through the season, bringing on some new coaches like manager Toby Evans, we were able to claw our way back to a distant 2nd place finish. We are already cleaning house and making plans for 2070. If we can sign a few key free agents I think we can make a run at the playoffs."

The Drought is Over! -
by Uncle Crush on August 31st, 2024
For the first time in 52 years, the rebranded Peoria franchise will hang a new championship banner. In the first season of under the new ownership team and GM Uncle Crush, the team caught lightning in a bottle and took the West division of League VI.26 by storm.
The pitching staff wrote the story of this team, leading the league in nearly every major statistical category, headlined by a 3.88 ERA and a whopping 86 quality starts. The veteran lefthander Mariano Mata took home Cy Young honors, leading the league with 19 wins and a 2.64 ERA. The bullpen was led by a three-headed monster of McGhee, Bryson, and McCartney; all of which had career seasons in Peoria.
Offensively, there is a lot of room for improvement despite the team success. Art Heath added yet another stellar season to his Hall of Fame career, bashing 34 homers for an 0.890 OPS while driving in 113 RBIs. The biggest breakout performance of the season offensively came from newly acquired Ramon Nevarez who signed as a free agent during spring training. Named a starter for the first time in his career, Nevarez responded by hitting 31 homeruns and driving in 122, while notching 50 doubles. Ramon will be entering his prime next season and hopes to build on this breakout campaign. Former number one overall prospect Craig Knepper slumped hard out the gates but finished the season with a 0.696 OPS as he looks to put it all together in 2066.
Following the season, ownership reached a deal with the city of Billings to bring the club to Montana with a rebrand to the Mountaineers. The team only spent one year in Peoria, but it was incredibly memorable, and GM Crush would like to personally thank the Central Illinois fans for their support.
