Press Releases:

Apr 11 2043: Rutledge & Locke combine in near perfect win - by ETrent on November 16th, 2019

Reno pitchers Edward Rutledge and Doug Locke combined on a one-hitter, in beating Oak Park 2-0 at The TeePee.

The Reno pitchers were efficient, facing the minimum 27 batters, allowing the one hit (a 6th inning single by Oak Park 2B Sidney Croft - which was immediately followed by a double play) and no other baserunners.

Rutledge (1-0, 5.40) struck out four Indians in his seven innings of work on 64 pitches, while Locke saved his third of the year on just 20 pitches in two innings.

Apr 14 2041: Reno Somehow Leads Division - by ETrent on June 15th, 2019

If you look a the numbers, there's no way Reno should even be in the middle of the West Division, let alone leading it by two games.

The Aces bats are off to a dreadful start (.244 batting average in 14 games; 11th in the league), pitching has been getting hammered (4.64 ERA, 10th in the league), and the fielding is almost semi-decent (.975 FP, tied for 8th).

It seems that individuals are shining in this team: Nathan Short leads the league in SB, BB and is tied for the most Runs; Slugger Drew Gruber is tied at the top of the Home Run tally; and 3B Ray Grove is quietly in the top ten of both HR and RBI.

Pitching has its bright spots as well, with bullpen standouts Dexter Reed and Doug Locke forming a lethal final innings 1-2 combination. Reed's four wins leads the circuit, while Locke leads the league with seven saves in right appearances.

Granted, its still early in the year, but if form holds, Reno has a bright future.
