Nov 01 2039: Lincoln Capture League Title - by coachwannabe on March 7th, 2019

The Reds won their first league championship under Manager Arnold Osborn in a rousing 4-1 series win over West representative Round Rock Yankees. The Reds also finished atop all statistical categories for League VI.18 this season, topping the standings with a 108-52 record and +362 run differential. The team will be moving up to League V.9 for next season, where the competition will certainly be stiffer.

Perhaps the most memorable detail about this Lincoln team was their balance across the field -- with three hitters hitting above .300 for the season (O'Reilly, Dillon, and Bender), and two other sluggers hitting 25+ homeruns each (Dotson and Pfeffer). Two late-season signees also made tremendous impacts, with Designated Hitter Tanner "T-Shock" Shockley batting .293 and Shortstop Dalton "Swat" Paulsen batting .331 (though he was ineligible to count as above .300 for the season in league standings, due to signing late).

The Bullpen also packed a punch, as two pitchers finished in the League's top ten for wins (Gibbs and Dodd), one finished in third for saves (Guevara), one finished in seventh for strike outs (Nieto), and two finished top five for ERA (Dodd and Virgil).

Altogether, 8 players earned All-Star nods, and the team earned a League championship and promotion bid -- truly making this season one that Lincoln will never forget.
