Leprechauns Hire Will Carey To Lead "Veteran Vanguard" Hours After Old Manager: George Valentin Was In Press Release & Carey Lays Down The Law: No Logos Until Opening Pitch. -
by George16KO on January 31st, 2026
Oxford, GA - The Oxford Leprechauns have officially named Will Carey the 63-year-old as their new manager. A veteran mind with decades of experience, Carey replaces George Valentin to oversee the club's push for a championship.
"Will is the perfect fit for this roster," said Owner George16KO. "We have a clubhouse full of experienced men like Edward Wardle and Uwe Schuster. We didn't need a developmental coach; we needed a general who knows how to navigate the Broken Bat League Pyramid."
Carey addressed the media briefly this evening, standing alongside his new coaching staff. "I've watched this team from afar," Carey said. "The 'Old Guard' doesn't need me to teach them how to throw a strike, they need me to manage their conditioning and Fatigue so they're peak-ready for the playoffs. My message to the skeptics is simple: class is officially in session."
New skipper Will Carey wasted no time making his mark, holding a marathon meeting today with the entire coaching staff and every player from the Active Roster down to the Alto Colonels. Carey announced he will personally oversee Minor League Management to ensure prospects like Juan Pablo Morales are "mentally battle-ready."
In a surprising move to build "team identity," Carey has stripped the Leprechaun logos from all uniforms. Until the 2:00 PM kickoff tomorrow vs the Palm Coast Dolphins on August 26, 2072, the squad will wear the team colors, but no crest.
"You don't just wear the Leprechaun; you earn it," Carey told the media. "They have the colors, but they don't own the jersey yet. They'll get the logo back when they show me they can protect this house. Whether you're a 13-year vet like Edward Wardle or a rookie, tomorrow at 2:00 PM is when the work begins."
The team is set to take the field tomorrow at 2:00 PM in their first game under Will Carey vs the Palm Beach Dolphins. The pressure is on for the team to perform and earn back their logos. The lineup for the game is still unknown, and it remains to be seen who will be stepping up to fill the clean-up spot.

"Class Is In Session": Wardle & Veteran Core Issue Stark Warning To League Rivals -
by George16KO on January 31st, 2026
Oxford, GA - The Oxford Leprechauns locker room has officially closed ranks against the skeptics. Following a tense media session, club icon pitcher Edward Wardle and the veteran core issued a blunt response to questions regarding their age and the recent drafting of shortstop Juan Pablo Morales out of Vanderbilt University.
"The press is obsessed with the 'New Blood' in Screven, but the trophies are won here in Oxford," said Wardle. "While people talk about my 'ticking clock,' I'm focusing on my Control & Movement. We aren't placeholders; we're a masterclass. Uwe Schuster and I have seen it all, a 21-year-old hasn't."
Infield leader Daniel Mejias echoed the sentiment, making it clear that the veteran roster isn't ready to yield. "Morales is a great prospect, but the big-league dirt belongs to us. We've earned our stripes, and we're here to prove that experience is the ultimate Training tool."
Owner George16KO stood by his high-salary roster, stating, "Winning isn't cheap, and I'm betting on the men who know how to close out games. We're old, we're expensive, and we're dangerous."
