Jun 01 2075: LITTLETON GENESIZ ANNOUNCE RETIREMENT OF JOAQUIN “WALKER TEXAS” RANGEL - by Meyrian on August 29th, 2026LITTLETON, CO – After 17 seasons in a Littleton uniform, legendary closer Joaquin “Walker Texas” Rangel has officially retired from professional baseball.
The 38-year-old left-hander walks away immediately after securing the 600th save of his career, moving him into 8th place on the all-time saves list and providing one final landmark for one of the most accomplished relief careers in league history.
Rangel appeared in 742 games, compiling a 23-36 record with 600 saves and a 2.61 ERA over 638⅔ innings. He surrendered 593 hits and 243 earned runs while recording 536 strikeouts against 276 walks. Across his entire career, opposing hitters batted only .195 against him, and he finished with a 1.062 WHIP.
Perhaps no stretch better illustrates Rangel at his most dominant than the remarkable run that began in 2060. From 2060 through 2062, Rangel converted 91 consecutive save opportunities, remaining perfect across a streak that stretched over three seasons. When Littleton entered the late innings with the ball in his hands, the outcome became almost automatic.
That dominance was accompanied by exceptional longevity. Rangel produced nine seasons with at least 40 saves, exceeded 45 saves on five occasions and established his single-season best with 53 saves in 2067.
His career ultimately came full circle in 2075. Seventeen seasons after debuting at age 22, Rangel recorded save No. 600 at age 38, placing himself among the greatest closers the game has seen.

After starting as a Major in 2030, at the age of 20, Fernando Montejo is retiring.
With 2588 hits (including 627 doubles, 88 triples and 197 HR) on 8673 AB, it is in 5th position in the history of the franchise and in 1st position in AVE% with 0.298.
He was also a very good runner, with his 681 SB.
This season, he has exceeded the POTG number of Bernardo Enriquez (95) by obtaining his 95 and 96th POTG.
He ended his career at 36, 11 times All-Star and 4 times All-League.
