Thank you Natedawg17, you’re right the games were very close & came down to some critical plays. I was nervous going up against you. You beat me in inter league 6-4, and the thought of having to go up against Norm Stewart possibly multiple times scared me even more. You have a great team and I look forward to our matchups next season.

Hey all not sure how I have never seen this but here I am. Might be asking either the perfect group of people or the worst group of people but it seems like my pitching sucks. I’m relatively new, especially with this team and this high of a league, but have played before with other teams. In terms of hitting and fielding I feel I understand it relatively well, but pitching seems to make no sense. One of my pitchers had an amazing season (relative to my other awful pitchers), while other pitchers in my team seem to have had a much worse season besides being better rated across the board. Assuming you all are willing to share with your competitor, what other factors are there that I don’t see besides randomness? I’m sure part is that half my pitching rotation is signed out of FA every year.

Congrats to the Hitmen!

@ML21 - Your pitching (outside of Amaya, Coronado, Schmidt) is either old, or average, or both, so they're going to struggle. You need better velocity but particularly better movement pitchers (as the old adage goes, you can never have enough pitching). Having said that, for the most part your guys held up pretty well and your outstanding offence (.272/.335/.455 at this level is remarkable) more than balanced it out. Your fielding is also good (Browne at 2B will get better with age, and cut down on errors).

From your minors, Echevarria and Santiago are both due up, but given both are extremely homer-prone so might be relievers only or cuts. Estevez, Higgins and Beniquez should be decent.

Awards predictions?

MVP - Nice season from Juarez (RC) but Horan (HP) seems the easy pick.

Cy - Close between Corral (EP) and Stewart (RC)? Nod to Stewart.

Will try to look around later for Rookies. Open to suggestions. :)

MVP: My biased pick is Horan, but could make a case for both Fano and Juarez

Cy Young: Stewart should win it, though depending on what the algorithm prefers could be a couple other guys in contention.

Anyone got any good rookies?

I played lots of rookies and they were, to a man, dreadful. Didn't manage 1 vote in either category.

I didn't expect Juarez that far down. Can't complain about any of the winners.

No gold gloves for Waterloo. Not surprising. We went from a 70 error team to a 100 error team changing only our 1B. Low roll season on both D and SP.

Thanks again. Looking forward to the new season.

Congrats to St. Joseph and Hitmen for their first title. It's a great way to cap off the amazing rise to the top from Division VI. That is one of the greatest feature of this great game: the ability to let you really build your team from the ground up and take them on a Cinderella ride.

Great season by Rancho Cucamonga and Nate. Two straight seasons on top of West, and a great regular season this year. Sometime the team just hit a dry spell at the wrong time.

Best of luck to everyone next season!

@ML21 You are doing a great job managing the team. 3 playoff wins in 5 season is not an easy feat. I didn't even noticed that High Point changed ownership because the team remain very competitive from the last time that I played them throughout the upper leagues.

I think you are doing the right thing going with the hot hands. When I first started, I was looking for high movement pitchers, but that didn't really work out. Then I tried at least having some baseline in velocity/movement/control, but the result also varies. There were simply too many pitchers with good ratings and cannot actually pitch (see my first 15 pot pitcher Cruz Zepeda and first 16 pot pitcher William Jacobs).

I have been putting more stock into minor performance lately, but Ismael Corral didn't exactly light the minor on fire either.

I feel that pitching is just very volatile. I suppose real life pitching is too. Take Ismael Corral for example. I didn't think he was going be good with that low of velocity. Then after the amazing start to his career and low HR numbers, I thought he was going to be the next great pitcher for us. Then he was borderline unplayable for his middle part of his career. Every season, I think he's going to turn it around, and he would slowly go from SP3/4 to SP5 to losing his job completely every season. Then this season he had a great start, was an all-star, and a very good season overall.

Then there's Devin Patton. His CoS is only 10 and have no movement scouting comments. Usually this type of pitcher ended up as a bullpen arm for me. He ended up winning 4 straight Cy Youngs and is one of the main reason why we are able to be very competitive the last 4 season. Then he totally crap the bed the first half of the season. The second half of better, but still not as dominant. Finally he lost the game that officially eliminated us on the second to last game of the season.

So yes, go with the hot hands :)

I looked at some stats, my FIP was lowest in the east, my HR and BB+HB was pretty average for the league, and my strikeouts was by far the highest in the league. We gave up an BAA of .266 which would’ve been second best in the league only behind our offense. I thought my team had some decent range but I could be wrong. We were about middle of the pack for errors which suprised me given how low my infield fielding is. Led the league in both OA and PB and were above average in DP and CS%. I saw somewhere that having a catcher with C rating helps with pitching and just realized my catcher did not have that.
