Is Quigley done? -
by Ty_Cobb on October 21st, 2022
Tom Quigley, the 13 yr veteran, has been a mainstay at the heart of Tuscaloosa's batting order for more than a decade. After being the 4th round draft pick in 2043, Tom was quickly brought up to the bigs the following season to be the back up 1st baseman in 2044,45. In 2046, at 24 yr old, he was handed the reigns and has been the starting 1st bagger ever since. Now he's 35! Despite having a solid season last year rumors are that he will be announcing his retirement soon. We'll just have to wait and see.

New "Sheriff" in Town, Literally -
by Ty_Cobb on October 7th, 2022
Even though Tuscaloosa finished in 2nd place, many view it as a disappointment. "This was a Championship caliber team" veteran 3b Caleb Tackett said. Manager Lyle "Sheriff" Steele was questioned repeatedly of his misuse of pitchers and using players in positions they've never played. 64 yr old Donald "Doc" Keith has been hired as his replacement for the 2057 season. Doc is a 23 yr veteran with a career record of 2166-1990, a .521 winning%. "He has a great record for such a long career," said owner Ty Cobb "but it is his success in handling & developing both pitchers and hitters that I really like. Plus, his personality will be a fit with our ball club." Only time will tell.

Mid-Season Managerial Change? Good or Bad? -
by Ty_Cobb on August 15th, 2022
With the Trojans having a 12-5 record and being in 1st place by 2½ games, you would think the team would be running smooth as silk. Apparently not! Today, April 18th 2056 Ty Cobb, the new owner of the Tuscaloosa Trojans, announced the firing of manager Marc Atkins. The exact reason for this surprising move is not yet known. All Mr. Cobb would say is that it was "due to actions unbecoming a Major League Manager" and "burnt bridges that can not be repaired at this point is very distracting and bad for moral." He also announced Lyle Steele, a 10 year veteran, as his replacement." Steele is as good of a offensive manager as anyone in the game,' said Hitting Coach Derrick Milligan. "A team would be hard pressed to find a manager that can find a way to motivate players to want to get better," Cobb said. "players just want to win for him, Lyle will be a good fit."
