Nov 02 2072: 2072 Season Recap - by ashevchuk on February 20th, 2026

This could be considered the greatest season in our franchise history. For the 1st time ever we got promoted to League 4 and that was right after promotion to League 5. It was a fierce competition with our former rival from the previous league level, but we managed to squeeze through with a 94-66 record.

Players of note
SS Francois Bouchard with a .346 AVG, 27 HRs, 103 RBIs, 111 Rs and 16 SBs. Our leader became a 5th time All-Star and got his 5th All-League award and also finished 3rd in MVP voting.
OF Ned Fisher with a .304 AVG, 34 HRs and 110 RBIs. He became an All-Star for the 1st time in his career and established himself as our team's main power hitter.
C Preston Beaver with a .295 AVG, 19 HRs, 98 Rs and 32 SBs. It was his 3rd All-Star selection and became a potential candidate for our hall of fame.
OF Darío Arguello with a .280 AVG, 28 HRs, 203 RBIs and 105 Rs. He finally won his 1st All-Star and also got his 1st Golden Glove as a CF with .992 FP and 6 OA.
OF Russel Meyer with a .273 and 22 SBs. Our rookie won offensive rookie of the season award and became a solid candidate to be a leadoff hitter for season to come.
DH Benito Robles is an honorary mentioned as he completed his last season and will retire into the hall of fame with 368 HRs - all-time best in our franchise.
SP Andrés Davila with a 17-6 record and a 3.52 ERA. He didn't win any awards this time and didn't have the greatest season, but still was our best SP and finished 3rd in Cy Young voting.

Other award winners:
OF Josh Herr - 2nd time Golden Glove winner, this time as an RF with .995 FP and 17 OA.
RP Kelly Vogel with a 12-6 record and 3.41 ERA. He became a 2nd time All-Star after delivering a strong performance in the first part of the season as a setup reliever.

Plans for the next season:
1. This is our 1st time in League 4 so I'd expect it to be the hardest challenge we've ever had. I expect we'd be happy if we manage to not get relegated, but might need to change expectation as the season goes.
2. We have strong hitters who delivered multiple seasons in a row. Even though some of them might lose some skills in aging, we still have a few younger guys who could improve so we expect this to be our strength.
3. Our biggest weakness is the bullpen, specifically relievers. Our starters are pretty solid, but lack of proven middle, setup relievers and a closer might be very costly.
4. We managed to get a few good prospects in the draft and some of our better younger batters started moving up from the rookie league so there's hope that in 3-4 season we might have a very strong replacement for the retiring stars. The pitching side is not very promising, so we'll probably spend some draft capital there.

Jan 13 2072: 2071 Season Recap - by ashevchuk on December 8th, 2025

Last season turned out to be our most successful record wise. 110-50 allowed us to breeze through it without any doubt we'd make it to the next level. Now comes the hard part of trying to sustain any level of success in League 5.

Players of note
Because of our record and maybe weakness of some teams in our division, we had a lot of players with inflated numbers. But nevertheless, they are worth mentioning:
SS Francois Bouchard with a .345 AVG, 22 HRs, 101 RBIs, 120 Rs and 22 SBs. Our future hall-of-famer became a 4th time All-Star, got his 4th All-League award and finished 2nd in MVP voting.
C Preston Beaver with a .333 AVG, 36 HRs, 113 RBIs and 33 SBs. It was his best season so far and he became a 2nd time All-Star, got his 3rd All-League award and finished 3rd in MVP voting.
OF Ned Fisher with a .288 AVG, 30 HRs and 109 RBIs. Our last year's rookie sensation got his 1st All-League honors as he continues to provide us with a powerful left-handed bat vs both LH and RH pitchers.
OF Darío Arguello with a .288 AVG, 28 HRs, 116 RBIs and 123 Rs. He didn't win any awards, but is due. He has the potential to be our team leader in batting.
3B Caesar Armenta with a .316 AVG, 19 HRs, 102 RBIs and 108 Rs. He didn't win any awards, but established himself as one of our team's most reliable hitters.
SP Andrés Davila with a 20-6 record and a 2.83 ERA. Our ace delivered his best season yet that earned him his 2nd All-Star and All-League awards and a well-deserved CY Young. We will need to rely on him heavily to be able to have success at the new level.
SP Ryan Hawke with an 18-7 record and a 3.41 ERA. He earned his 4rt All-Star award, reached 96 career Ws and figures to be a proved 2nd starter in our exciting bullpen rotation.

Other award winners:
SS Rodolfo Echevarría with a .307 AVG, 11 HRs and 77 RBIs. He finally became an All-Star and had his 3rd over .300 BA in the last 4 seasons.
SP Juan Gómez with a 14-8 record, 2 Saves and a 3.96 ERA. He followed his award winning rookie campaign with his 1st All-Star selection.
RP Christian Ontivaros with a 9-2 record and a 3.57 ERA. Our rookie left-hander continued the trend and received Pitching Rookie of the Year award. We haven't had a reliable LH pitcher in a long while now, so he will play a very important role as he transitions into a starter role.

Plans for the next season:
1. We haven't had a lot of success in League 5, so the expectations are modest - do not get relegated. But those expectations might grow should we kick off a season on a high note.
2. On the offensive side, we have a good mix of veterans and younger guys. While some of our previous leaders are retiring, we feel strong about our core.
3. Our bullpen is exciting on the one hand, but haven't been really tested recently. There's always concern that on this level stats from the last season will dip, but there's cautious optimism that they might hold their ground yet.
4. We haven't had very good drafts recently, but found that if we ease 1-2 players into majors each season, it pays off. We do have some potentially exciting players that are in the rookie league or just got promoted to the A level, so hopefully they'll show good improvement.

Jan 13 2071: 2070 Season Recap - by ashevchuk on September 20th, 2025

100 wins is usually enough to promote to the next league. But that was not a case for us as for the 2nd year in a row we found ourselves 1 game behind our desired result. From this point of view we failed our goal, but we did have a very good season nonetheless.

Players of note:
DH Benito Robles had yet another great season with a .292 AVG, 20 HRs and 109 RBIs. He didn't win any awards, but definitely deserved to.
SS Francois Bouchard with a .334 AVG, 23 HRs, 116 RBIs, 103 Rs and 28 SBs. It was his best season so far an earned him his 3rd time All-League award.
C Preston Beaver with a .296 AVG, 21 HRs and 55 SBs. He didn't win any awards, but provided 20/20 season for the 5th year in a row.
3B Caesar Armenta with a .304 AVG, 27 HRs and 96 RBIs. He didn't win any awards, but delivered his breakthrough season and gave us another offensive weapon for many years.
OF Ned Fisher with a .288 AVG, 27 HRs and 89 RBIs. Our rookie was the biggest surprise and deservedly won offensive rookie of the season award.
SP Andrés Davila with a 18-7 record and a 3.53 ERA. Our new ace delivered a strong season that earned him his 1st All-Star and All-League awards. He also finished 2nd in CY Young voting.

Other award winners:
SP Ryan Hawke with a 17-7 record and a 3.72 ERA. It was his 3rd All-Star award and he also finished 3rd in CY Young voting.
RP Juan Gómez with a 7-5 record, 2 Saves and a 3.35 ERA. It was a very solid season from our rookie that earned him Pitching Rookie of the Year honors.
RP Tim Melton with 42 Saves and a 2.89 ERA. Our veteran stepped in a a closer this season and has strong production aerning him his 1st All-League award.

Plans for the next season:
1. Winning a league and promoting back to 5 is our main goal yet again.
2. On the offensive side, we'll stick with the same players, but will get younger players more at-bats as some of our veterans are close to retirement..
3. As far as pitching is concerned, we let a few veterans go and promoted only one player from our academy, but we feel very strong about our bullpen, specifically starters.
4. Our best draftees are many season away from playing in the majors, most of them are in the rookie league. Hopefully we can get a decent draft and also develop a few youngters who would be able to step up next season and replace our retirees.

Jan 13 2070: 2069 Season Recap - by ashevchuk on July 8th, 2025

Despite very grounded expectations, we had another disappointing campaign at the League 5 level. We got relegated by being 1 game behind from the safe spot by losing last game of the season. Overall, we were much better than our 72-88 record suggested as we lost of close games and ended up with a pretty healthy positive margin in runs scored/allowed. It's also hard to pinpoint what went wrong as statistics were pretty decent. One outlier was our ace pitcher going 7-18 with 4.63 ERA after winning more than 20 games and a CY Young last season.

Players of note:
DH Benito Robles continued his illustrious career with a .302 AVG, 30 HRs and 110 RBIs. He was a 5th time All-Star.
SS Francois Bouchard with a .327 AVG, 25 HRs, 103 RBIs, 115 Rs and 30 SBs. He was a 3rd time All-Star and a 2nd time All-League and also finished close 2nd in the MVP voting. He's the leader of this team and a perennial all-star at this point.
C Preston Beaver with a .272 AVG, 20 HRs and 42 SBs. He didn't win any awards, but provided 20/20 season for the 4th year in a row.
LF Ismael Vasquez with a .279 AVG, 18 HRs and 82 RBIs. He became a 5th time All-Star at his 35 age season. He's on the verge of retirement and is a very strong consideration for the team hall of fame induction.
SS Rodolfo Echevarría with a .302 AVG, 19 HRs and 81 RBIs. He didn't win any awards, but he proved to be another core piece of our offense and will end up winning awards going forward.
SP Andrés Davila with a 14-6 record and a 3.09 ERA. It was his 1st season as a starter and he became a shining star, even finishing 5th in the Cy Young voting. He might be on the way to becoming our new ace.

Other award winners:
RP Iakopo Sefo with a 7-4 record, 9 Saves and 2.61 ERA. He was a 1st time All-Star after switching to a closer role, even though he might be near the end of his career too.

Plans for the next season:
1. Winning a league and promoting back to 5 is our main goal.
2. Offensively we have a good core, but there will be retirements and aging will be a big factor, so a lot of younger players will have more opportunities..
3. Our bullpen has not been too good recently and a lot of players are close to retirement so we are looking for free agents and also trying to develop our shorthanded talent.
4. Last season's draft was very subpar and we are actually in a tough spot given how many started are about to retire while there are not so many quality replacements. Having a great draft would be crucial this season.

Jan 13 2069: 2068 Season Recap - by ashevchuk on April 18th, 2025

After a pitiful previous campaign, there was only one expectation - to promote back to league 5. This was achieved with relative ease as we had our best ever regular season record of 107-53. Even though we lost the championship series in 7 games, it was more of an outlier and season goal has been achieved. Additionally we managed to give our younger players consistent playing time which should help us in the immediate future.

Players of note:
C Benito Robles proved he's still a leader of our franchise with a .318 AVG, 35 HRs and 124 RBIs. He was not an All-Star due to his DH position, but became an All-League for the 4th time, this one as DH.
C Preston Beaver with a 0.306 AVG, 21 HRs, 91 RBIs and 46 SBs. He was a first time All-Star nad 2nd time All-League and provided 20/20 for 3rd year in a row.
SS Francois Bouchard with a .325 AVG, 20 HRs, 109 RBIs, 109 Rs and 18 SBs. He was a 2nd time All-Star and All-League for the 1st time in his career and also finished 5th in the MVP voting.
SP Ryan Hawke with a 21-6 record and 2.80 ERA. He won a Cy Young Award in only his 3rd season in the majors. He was a 2nd time All-Star and a 1st time All-League. He's become a true ace and a MVP of our franchise.
RP Bart Beard with 43 saves in 49 tries and an impressive 1.46 ERA and 0.750 WHIP. He was a 2nd time All-Star and earned his 1st All-League award.
RP Andrés Davila with a 9-1 record and a 2.24 ERA. He won the Rookie Pitcher of the Year award and looks like another promising pitcher to come out of our system.

Other award winners:
CF Octavio Davila with a .301 AVG and 102 Rs. He was a 1st time All-Star in his 30 yo season which came as a pleasant surprise after many season of struggle in the majors.
SP Kelly Vogel with a 13-7 record and 4.47 ERA. He was a 1st time All-Star after having a really hot start to the season, but cooled off significantly in the 2nd half.
1B Josh Herr - 1st time Golden Glove winner with .997 FP, only 2 errors and 52 DP. He continued a long-standing tradition of excellent 1st base play in our franchise.

Plans for the next season:
1. It's really hard to predict what happens at League 5 level. Anything but relegation would be acceptable.
2. Offensively we are transitioning to younger players while we still have a core of 4-6 solid veterans. Last season allowed us to develop some of the youngsters so we have cautios optimism here. We'll try a few rookies too, but it's hard to predict what their role might be.
3. Our bullpen has a lot of youngsters that came in through our minors system. We'll have just 1 rookie, but he looks very promising.
4. Last season's draft gave us a few interesting prospects, but we really need to hit a jackpot on a few positions, especially on offense. Our youth system is still our main provider of players, so we always look forward to player development as one of the most interesting aspects of the game.
